Smith River Craigs Creek Trailhead Merge

The Smith River is an incredibly crystal blue river spanning over 25 miles primarily in the northwest corner of California. Managed by the Six Rivers National Forest you will not be disappointed no matter where you stop to access this refreshing sparking basin. Originating from the Klamath Mountains and spawning over 710 square miles there are hidden spots behind every bend!

If you’re looking for locations to stop and take a swim then you will not be disappointed when traveling along Highway 199. Starting about 12 miles Southwest of O'brien Oregon traveling west towards the coast- you will find dozens of locations to stop, take a picture, take a dip, or sunbathe under the beautiful sunshine. If you are driving through the Redwoods then you must stop and admire this majestic river.

Also known as the South Bank of the Smith River (South Fork)- Myrtle Beach, Forks River Access and Boat Ramp, and Craig’s Creek Trailhead are all locations where you can park your vehicle to access this part of the river, where two springs merge into one.
