Devil's Churn - Oregon Coast

Violent ruthless waves crashing into volcanic rock over thousands of years resulted in a coastline fissure known to Oregon as Devil's Churn. Travel along Path #136, Trail of the Restless Waters, down to the tidepools. The 0.4mile trail is paved and primarily switchbacks.

Devil's Churn is as slim as 2 feet and over 80 feet at its widest point. The waves collide with the coastline and explode up onto the rocky tidepool. The aggressive water rebounds back into the pacific ocean off the rocks resulting in the churning coined as Devil's Churn. If you were to fall in you would not make it out.
